Stewardship: Time, Talent, and Treasure

At Christ the King, we encourage our parishioners to live a life of gratitude and stewardship. Your commitment to giving of your time, talent, and treasure is important for a vital Christian life and parish community.

Please spend some time experiencing our parish ministries and activities, participating in our Sunday Mass, exploring our Ministry Directory and Time & Talent Form, and talking with other parish members.

Your gift of treasure should also fully express your gratitude to God for all you have received. We pray that God will always help us to be wise and generous stewards of the gifts he has given us. May the generosity of all who give of themselves for the good of others always be life-giving for each person and family of our parish.

Stewardship is the awareness that our resources of time, talent, and treasure are gifts from God. It is an essential part of our Christian mission, giving back to God the gifts that we have been given through service and ministry to our community. Your time and talent help keep our parish alive, healthy, and thriving.

How can I steward my gifts well at Christ the King?

Time and Talent

Please take a moment to download and read our Ministry Directory. This document briefly describes all the ministry opportunities available in our community.

Once you have discerned the ways that God has called you to share your time and talent, please complete a Time and Talent Form and return it by dropping it off at the parish office or placing it in the offertory basket during Mass.

Treasure

There are several ways to contribute financially to the life of our parish:

Your financial contributions at Mass and through various collections are greatly appreciated. You can also give through our EFT program. These contributions may be tailored to fit your needs as outlined in our Electronic Contributions Directory. Go online and fill out the Online Donation Form today. Please contact Jennifer in the parish office if you have any questions about setting up an electronic giving account.

If you would like to donate a commemorative brick for the path around the Stations of the Cross, please download the Memorial Brick Order Form. Donating a brick is a wonderful way to honor loved ones or celebrate special occasions. The commemorative bricks will be a permanent part of the pathway for our parish and school community. For more information, please contact Jennifer in the parish office.

Since 2009, Christ the King has cultivated a sister parish relationship with Corpus Christi Parish in Jalchatra, Bangladesh. Like our parish here in South Bend, Corpus Christi is also staffed by the Congregation of Holy Cross. Through this sister parish relationship, we often raise funds to support the work of Holy Cross at Corpus Christi Parish. We strive to build a relationship that goes beyond fundraising, however—a mutual relationship where our two parishes can grow in faith by learning about each other. We work with various parish and school groups on projects—Giving Tree during Advent and Fish Fry during Lent, for example—that deepen our relationship with Corpus Christi Parish.

Funds raised in the Annual Bishop's Appeal do a tremendous amount to help both our diocese and our local parish. This appeal supports all ministries and offices of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, while also supporting all 81 parishes and 2 oratories of our Diocese. Any amount raised at Christ the King over and above our goal returns to us and is used to fund capital expenses here at the parish.

Please prayerfully consider giving whatever you are able for this appeal. If financial resources are tight now, then prayer is a wonderful way to contribute. The more we work together as brothers and sisters in Christ, the more we become a true parish, a "family of families" seeking to build the kingdom of God, to love one another as he loves us.

If you have any questions or would like to make a pledge, please contact Amy in the parish office. You can also make a pledge and donate online through Our Sunday Visitor portal. The last day to give is December 31, 2023.

“We dedicate ourselves as well to be prophetic signs through these vows. We are sojourners in this world, longing for the coming of the new creation as we seek to be stewards on this earth. The world is well provisioned with gifts from God’s hand, but the gifts are often worshiped and the Giver is ignored. We want to live our vows in such a way that our lives will call into question the fascinations of our world: pleasure, wealth, and power. Prophets stand before the world as signs of that which has enduring value, and prophets speak and act in the world as companions of the Lord in the service of his kingdom. We pray to live our vows well enough to offer such witness and service.” Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross (5.45)
