It’s been a little while since I’ve given you an update on what’s going on with our vestibule construction. Since groundbreaking in August, our construction crew from Majority Builders has been busy excavating, demolishing and preparing the ground for construction. Now they’ve started work on the foundation. We can now start to see the shape of the new addition come together and get a rough idea of how this space is laid out.
The question that I get the most is, “Will the shell be completed before winter hits?” The short answer is … no! But that’s built into the plan, so we are still on schedule and (so far) haven’t seen any reason to expect delays. The foundation work will need to continue through mid- to late November, since they need to do prep work for the mechanical and electrical underground before they actually lay the slab. Then they’ll begin erecting the steel frame in early December. Majority has plenty of experience doing this type of construction during the winter, so I expect we’ll continue to see steady progress through the winter months.
