On Wednesday August 23rd, two statues of Christ the King were removed from our grounds as we begin work on the vestibule expansion.
The 11 foot bronze relief of Christ the King weighs about 1000 pounds and was removed by crane from its place on the exterior of the church. It will be refinished and placed prominently on the exterior of the new vestibule.
The marble statue of Christ the King sat in the breezeway between the church and the rectory. This statue will be cleaned and repaired and will be the focal point of a new prayer garden just outside the new vestibule.
Both statues will return in July 2024, when we expect to open the new vestibule!
