Christ the King has a podcast! I’m very excited to announce that the first episode of our parish podcast drops tomorrow, with new episodes every other week. (I get the privilege of being our first guest, but don’t worry, you won’t have to listen to me every episode!) It’s called The CTK Communal Climb, and it will cover a variety of topics designed to help parishioners take one more step on their journey of faith in a way that fits into even the busiest schedule. Each episode is hosted by Rianna Doyle (our Pastoral Team member who leads our evangelization efforts) and features guests from right here at Christ the King! (After all, we have a lot of faith-filled and talented parishioners here, so there’s a lot we can learn from one another.) The focus is on growing deeper in faith; this podcast won’t be geared towards parish news, but instead will explore different aspects of our relationship with the Lord and how we can be more attentive to His voice in everyday life.
The Communal Climb was initiated in response to the parish survey that was administered last year. We strive to offer a variety of high-quality faith formation opportunities, but the survey confirmed that the biggest obstacle standing in the way of parishioners participating is time. Survey respondents indicated that their schedules are so packed that it’s hard to make time for programs that take place at the parish. (They also indicated many creative and inspiring ways that they seek out faith formation opportunities despite their busy schedules, which shows that so many of you realize just how important continuing faith formation is.)
When we saw the survey results, I asked Rianna to come up with some creative ways to offer our parishioners ways to deepen their faith that fit into their busy schedules, and our parish podcast was born! I’m so excited that we are able to offer this in a format that people can listen to while they’re running errands, doing chores or relaxing at home. My hope is that the podcast will fill that great need that people have to nurture their relationship with the Lord even in the midst of their busy lives.
