As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week at Christ the King, we are invited to pause with gratitude and joy for the incredible gift of Catholic education. This week is not only a celebration of our school, but a celebration of who we are, a community rooted in faith, committed to academic excellence, and dedicated to forming the whole child: mind, heart, and soul.
Catholic Schools Week reminds us that our classrooms are more than places of learning; they are places of formation. Each day, our students are taught not only how to read, write, think, and problem-solve, but also how to love, serve, and live as disciples of Christ. We celebrate our students, our families, our faculty and staff, and our parishioners, who together make Christ the King a place where faith is lived and shared daily.
This celebration is made even more meaningful as it coincides with Holy Cross Heritage Month, a time when we reflect on what it means to be a Holy Cross school. As members of the Congregation of the Holy Cross family, we are guided by the mission to educate hearts and minds to make God known, loved, and served. This charism calls us to hope, Spes Unica, our one hope, and to trust that God is at work in our community, even in moments of challenge or change.
Being a Holy Cross school means that hope is not passive; it is active. It is seen in the way our teachers care deeply for each child, in the way our students learn to serve others, and in the way our community walks together in faith. Holy Cross reminds us that education is a ministry and that every interaction is an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love.
I would also like to extend a thank you to you, our parishioners, whose prayers, encouragement, and support strengthen our school in countless ways. Your partnership helps make Christ the King a vibrant parish school where faith and learning flourish. A special note of gratitude goes to our volunteers, whose generosity of time and talent strengthens our classrooms, events, and daily life in ways that truly make a difference.
We warmly invite all parishioners, families, and community members to join us for our Catholic Schools Week Open House on January 25th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to see firsthand the amazing work our faculty and students do every day and to experience the spirit of Christ the King School.
As we celebrate this special week and month, I am grateful for the privilege of leading such a faith-filled, compassionate, and mission-driven community. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for walking alongside us in this work.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lindsay Jeffress, Principal
