Refugee Resettlement Ministry

The Christ the King Refugee Resettlement Ministry partners with Catholic Charities to help refugee families seeking to come to the United States in the process of starting their new life in South Bend.  Support we provide includes home furnishings, transportation to various appointments, grocery shopping, English language tutoring, and school enrollment, as well as emotional support.

People who are able and willing to be translators, or tutors, for Spanish and French-speaking refugees, would be most gratefully welcomed! Please keep all the refugees (those who made it, and the many who are still hoping to make it) in your prayers. God Bless all of you for your care and generous nature in helping with this ministry!
If you are interested in helping, please contact us at resettlement@sbctk.com.

Even though we are not currently welcoming new refugees, we are helping those who are already here as we partner with the Catholic Charities case managers with assistance in several areas.  From English language lessons to providing emotional support, community integration assistance, and transportation (medical appointments, government services, post office, BMV, banking, grocery and clothing shopping) …something for everyone who is interested and able to help!

Would you like to help our refugee families feel more comfortable, be better acclimated in our community, and become self-sufficient? Come meet, hear, and talk with Kellie Porter and case manager(s) from Catholic Charities.
