Striving to make God known, loved, and served as young men and women in the 21st century.
The Christ the King Youth Group is open to all teenage parishioners in grades 7–12. Except for designated high school nights, all youth are welcome to attend any meeting at any time of the year. Friends from outside the parish are also welcome and encouraged to join us! Sixth-grade students are invited to come in the spring semester before their seventh-grade year. (Please know that our activities are not restricted to students just at Christ the King School.)
All youth must fill out and return an updated Emergency Medical Care Form each year that they participate in Youth Group activities.
Regular Meetings
Our regular meetings are held on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM downstairs in the Youth Room at church. These meetings differ each week and include prayer, games, group discussion, snacks, guest speakers, adoration, and so much more! We choose meeting topics that are relevant to the liturgical calendar, the time of the year, and current events. Everything is oriented toward building our individual relationship with Jesus so that we can grow in love of God and neighbor.

Throughout the year we hold special events to help us focus on prayer, fellowship and community building, service, and celebrating our faith. Check out the Youth Group events planned for this year:

Service
Our next Summer Service Week will be held in June of 2024! Each day will include service work in the local South Bend community, Mass and prayer, meals, and community building. The general cost is $15 per participant, with an extra $30 for anyone who chooses to stay overnight at Sacred Heart Parish Center for the final night. Spots are open to incoming eighth-grade students through outgoing high school seniors. Keep an eye out for registration in the spring of 2024!
Fundraising
In order to help raise money for our regular events, retreats, and service experiences, we hold two major fundraisers. In the fall, we sell homemade, ready-to-bake Dutch Apple Pies in the parish. We assemble the pies together here at Christ the King using Michigan apples from a local farmer. These pies make great gifts! They are excellent to put in the freezer and save for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. In the spring, we hold a Fresh Smoothie Sale after the 8:45 AM, 10:30 AM, and 12:15 PM Masses in the church basement.
“Thus we learn that formation and transformation are both the Lord’s gifts which we as a community can help one another to receive.” —Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross (6.79)
