Young people are the future of the church! Christ the King Youth Ministry strives to cultivate a space of encounter with the living God for teens: to help them see, feel, and know Jesus Christ firsthand. Through vibrant and charismatic prayer, service, community, fellowship, and fun, it is our goal that every teen at Christ the King will meet Jesus face-to-face and embark on a great adventure with him—one that will last far beyond our days at our beloved church on a busy street.
Teens will encounter Christ the King himself and learn what it means to be invited into relationship with him: to sit at his table and serve at his side.
Christ the King Youth Ministry is open to all teenagers in grades 7–12. Except for designated high school nights, all youth are welcome to attend any meeting at any time of the year. Friends from outside the parish are also welcome and encouraged to join the group! Sixth-grade students are invited to come to meetings starting every spring. *Youth group activities are not restricted to only students at Christ the King school.
All youth must fill out and return an updated Emergency Medical Care Form each year that they participate in Youth Group activities.
Regular meetings are held on Sunday evenings during the school year from 7:00 to 9:00PM downstairs in the Youth Room at church. These meetings differ each week and include prayer, games, group discussion, snacks, guest speakers, adoration, formation, and so much more! We choose meeting topics that are relevant to the lives of our youth and their families, equipping them to evangelize in their daily lives at school, in sports, to their friends—and everything is oriented toward building our relationships with Jesus and one another. The youth group core team is a group of teens who take on a leadership role, attend semesterly formation nights for small group training, pastoral skills, and more.
