Social Life Events

Apart from prayer, worship, and service, as Christians we are called to build community with one another so as to build up the entire Body of Christ. At Christ the King, we strive to foster a culture of openness and welcome in which parishioners feel that they know each other. In order to do this, we offer a number of social events and ways to celebrate our parish family.

PARISH PICNIC

This year’s annual parish picnic will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 5:00pm. For this Saturday only, the vigil Mass will be moved to 4:00pm before the picnic. Parishioners are needed to plan the event, set up and tear down, lead games, and assist with other picnic activities. Contact Fr. David if you would like to volunteer for this ministry.

DONUT SUNDAY

The parish hosts Donut Sunday the first Sunday of each month after the 7:00 AM, 8:45 AM, and 10:30 AM Masses. This is a wonderful opportunity to join other parishioners downstairs in the church basement for conversation and community over a warm cup of coffee and a delicious donut! Parishioners are needed to help coordinate, set up, and serve each month. This is a great ministry for families to volunteer together! Contact Amy if you would like to volunteer for this ministry.

OKTOBERFEST / KING’S FEST

An annual parish festival usually held the weekend of the parish picnic, this year Kingsfest will be OKTOBERFEST! With tastings of many different local beers and ciders, food, and music, this 21+ event is a hit! Oktoberfest will be October 17, 2026.
Parishioners are needed to help plan and organize this celebration. Contact Fr. David if you would like to volunteer for this ministry.

CHRIST THE KING DINNER AUCTION

Every other year in February, Christ the King hosts a dinner and auction, which is the largest single fundraiser for our parish and school community. This gala event consists of an elegant three course meal, open bar, and both silent and live auction consisting of items donated by families and businesses and including many luxury items. Learn more here.

Our calling is to serve the Lord Jesus in mission not as independent individuals but in a brotherhood. Our community life refreshes the faith that makes our work a ministry and not just an employment; it fortifies us by the example and encouragement of our confreres; and it protects us from being overwhelmed or discouraged by our work.
