Light of the World

PARISH RETREAT

The Light of the World Retreat is an immersive weekend retreat experience where participants personally encounter Christ through the presentation of the kerygma – the basic gospel message. Christ the King hosts this retreat twice a year for parishioners at no cost. Interested in attending? Christ the King’s next retreat is scheduled for February 27 – March 1, 2027. Catholic.

The Light of the World Retreat is boldly Catholic, and it is completely faithful to the magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

Parish-based.

This retreat is born, raised, and run in your parish. All retreatants and organizers of this retreat are parishioners at Christ the King.

Kerygmatic.

To be honest, the Light of the World Retreat has no “secret ingredient.” It’s about sharing and diving into the tried and true method of evangelization that the Lord Himself has established: the kerygma.

Grassroots.

Evangelization isn’t just for the “experts.” All disciples have a responsibility to evangelize. This retreat turns “regular” Catholics into evangelizers, so get ready to start a fire in your heart!

Sacramental.

Retreatants access the storehouse of graces that are available to them in the Church through a renewal of the Sacraments during the Light of the World Retreat weekend. See the Sacraments in a new light that will change your life.

Accessible.

This retreat is for everyone! As this experience is hosted at the parish, there are no overnight stays or long drives to a remote retreat center. You show up in the morning and head home to sleep in your own bed, making this retreat ideal for young parents or those with mobility issues.
