Dear Christ the King family,
As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we are invited into one of the deepest mysteries of our faith: that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — a communion of perfect love.
Throughout the Gospels, we see the Father send the Son, and the Son promise the Holy Spirit to remain with His people. The Trinity reveals a God who is constantly giving, receiving, and loving, showing us how to live in relationship with one another. When we serve one another, pray together, forgive generously, and accompany each other in faith, we reflect the very life of the Trinity and make God present through us.
As I reflect on this feast, I am especially grateful for the gift of communion I have experienced over the past three years in our Christ the King parish family while serving as your Director of Evangelization and Youth Ministry. As many of you know, I will be leaving next month to begin a new chapter in Minnesota. While transitions are never easy, I carry with me profound gratitude for each of you.
Thank you for welcoming me into your lives, homes, classrooms, conversations, and prayers. Thank you to the parents who entrusted me with accompanying their teens in faith and fellowship, and to our CTK parish staff whose dedication and witness continually inspired me. Most especially, thank you to the young people of this parish, whose honesty, joy, love, and questions deepened my own relationship with Christ.
I have seen the Holy Spirit at work here in countless ways — in retreats and service projects, in moments of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, in laughter during Youth Group nights, in the ministry of our priests and deacons, and in the quiet faithfulness of parishioners who serve without seeking recognition. Again and again, these experiences have reminded me that the Church is truly alive!
While I may be leaving this role, what I have learned from your friendship and faith will remain with me and continue to guide me in the years ahead. I ask for your prayers as I prepare for what comes next, and I promise my continued prayers for all of you. My hope is that this parish will continue to be a source of encounter in the South Bend community and beyond, reflecting the perfect love of the Trinity.
May God the Father bless you, may Jesus Christ guide you, and may the Holy Spirit fill your hearts and this parish with renewed joy rooted in the Gospel.
